Guildelines for Abstracts Submission
Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines before you submit your abstract.
- Submission platform: Abstracts must be submitted online via the dedicated submission platform. Email submissions will not be accepted.
- Abstracts are required for all papers and posters.
- All abstracts should be submitted by 7 December, 2025 at 23:59 (Geneva, Switzerland Time) Extended deadline!
- Abstracts must be submitted in English.
- The abstract text may not be longer than 250 words.
- Up to three supplementary files can be added (pictures, tables, etc.).
These files will be used to select the abstracts; however, they will not be published. Only the 250-word abstracts that are accepted will be published in a supplement of the British Journal of Surgery. - It is mandatory to conform to this abstract’s structure: Background, Method, Results and Conclusion.
- Case reports will be accepted only as posters
- Complete abstracts: only abstracts in SUBMITTED status will be reviewed – Do not forget to submit your drafts before the deadline.
Authors are requested to select a topic for their abstract(s):
– Thyroid (Clinical or Basic (experimental science))
– Parathyroid (Clinical or Basic (experimental science))
– Adrenal (Clinical or Basic (experimental science))
– GEP-NET (Clinical or Basic (experimental science))
Conflict of interest: All abstract authors are required to submit a statement of any potential conflicting interests as part of the abstract submission process. This statement will be printed in the abstract book as submitted, should be included on accepted posters and as a slide for accepted oral presenters. Provision of this declaration will be a condition of presenting at the event.
BJS Prize Session
Best abstracts will be selected for BJS Prize session. Authors of abstracts selected for the BJS Prize competition must submit 2 months before the conference the full paper to BJS by a deadline that will be communicated after submission, pending the presentation of the abstract at the meeting. Non-submission to the BJS will be considered an abstract withdrawal.
Oral presentations not eligible for the BJS Prize session, will have the opportunity to be reviewed and published upon acceptance in UPIS (Updates in Surgery). Authors of abstracts selected for ORAL PRESENTATION who are willing to be considered for UPIS, must submit the full paper to UPIS one month before the conference.
Selected abstracts not participating in the BJS Prize session will be eligible for the Conference Best Oral and Best Poster Prizes competition.
Conference Best Video Prize
Five videos, which receive the highest scores, will be asked to be presented on the podium. One video presentation will be eligible for the Conference Best Video Prize. The rest will be presented in the special video-poster area. The duration and other details will be provided to you later.
Abstract acceptance and presentation
- The submitting author will be notified of their abstract’s status by January 30, 2026 via the email address used during submission. It is their responsibility to inform their co-authors of the result.
- Abstracts will be accepted either as an oral presentation to the plenary audience or as a poster.
- The presenting author must register to attend the conference. If not the abstract will be removed from the scientific program.
- Announcement of acceptance for video presentations will be carried out by February 16, 2026.
